A detailed ultrasound of the heart evaluating structure, function, and valve health — performed by a board-certified cardiac sonographer.
Duplex ultrasound imaging of the venous system to assess blood flow and screen for conditions such as deep vein thrombosis.
Evaluation of arterial blood flow in the limbs to detect blockages, narrowing, or peripheral arterial disease.
Ultrasound imaging of the carotid arteries to detect plaque buildup and assess stroke risk — a potentially life-saving study.
Mobile diagnostic X-ray for chest, musculoskeletal, and extremity imaging — available at clinics, care facilities, and community health events.
Southern Sound Diagnostics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making diagnostic imaging more accessible for patients across the Gulf Coast. Hospital-grade echocardiograms, vascular ultrasound, and X-ray imaging travel with us — straight to patients for whom a trip to a hospital or imaging center is a genuine hardship.
That includes cancer patients too fatigued for a long car ride, dementia patients for whom an unfamiliar clinic can be disorienting, dialysis patients already stretched thin by a demanding treatment schedule, and uninsured or underinsured families facing both a transportation barrier and a financial one. We partner with rural clinics, assisted living facilities, community health events, and healthcare organizations to meet patients where they are.

Ashlee founded Southern Sound Diagnostics to close the gap between patients and the diagnostic care they deserve. She leads the organization and personally performs cardiac and vascular imaging — bringing clinical expertise and genuine compassion to every study.
Amber co-founded Southern Sound Diagnostics alongside Ashlee, helping build the organization from the ground up. As board secretary and lead radiographer, she brings both strategic oversight and hands-on clinical expertise — ensuring our X-ray services are delivered with the same care and professionalism as everything else we do.
